Care for Caregivers
For those in helping and healing roles—parents, teachers, medical professionals, family and faithful friends—it's helpful to remember that the first step in taking care of others is to take care of ourselves. Breathwork, mindfulness, connecting with others in similar situations, and lightening the mood can help us melt stress, heighten optimism, and replenish our energy so that we have more to share. Through gentle yoga, breath work, guided relaxation, writing, and discussion, we’ll clarify what we need to sustain our vitality, identify ways we can lighten our load, and learn ways to feel refreshed and rejuvenated every day.

How do we widen the range of what’s possible, connect with what's meaningful, and get out of our own way? Where do we hold back and get stuck, and how can we change perspective? We’ll cultivate curiosity and look for opportunities for rich satisfaction in the everyday. Format is a mix of discussion, journaling, and fun, thought-provoking coaching exercises. Even if groups aren’t usually your thing, this might be for you.
I hold group and private classes. Private yoga classes are tailored to each client and may focus on injury prevention and recovery; relief from stress, anxiety and depression; increasing strength and flexibility' easing symptoms from illness, and pain relief. I occasionally suggest yoga as a complement to coaching and vice versa, since strengthening the connection between mind and body can be a powerful tool to support good health.
